Cerebral infarction modelThe proximal ends of ECA and CCA are ligated, and a small opening is cut in the CCA between the two ligated ends. The nylon cord is inserted into the brain through the small opening and then to the ICA, which may be blocked once slightly affected by resistance. Following ischemia for 120 min, the thread is pulled out and the incision is sutured layer by layer. The model of cerebral infarction in rats is thus established.
